IDEPSCA Welcomes Interim Executive Director

The General Assembly and the Board of Directors is proud to appoint Maegan Ortiz as Interim Executive Director of IDEPSCA, effective April 1, 2015. We are excited that Ms. Ortiz has agreed to serve in this capacity as we continue to implement our transition plan to find a permanent staff leader. Ms. Ortiz has been with the organization since 2014 serving as the VozMob Coordinator. She has done a phenomenal job managing and completing program deliverables in collaboration with community members, funders and staff. Most recently, Ms. Ortiz has also been serving as IDEPSCA's Director of Development and has been seeking funding opportunities and developed a plan to reinstate fundraising activities that incorporates the participation of General Assembly, Board, staff and community members. We are confident Ms. Ortiz will provide strong leadership during this time of transition.

Ms. Ortiz has over 20 years of leadership, development and grassroots experience in nonprofit and community based organization and over 10 year as an independent journalist writing about Latino political issues including immigration policy. Ms. Ortiz will partner with the IDEPSCA General Assembly, Board of Directors, and staff to work on organizational planning, fundraising and development of the 2015-2020 Strategic Plan. Ms. Ortiz will also oversee staff, program and fiscal operations. Our commitment is to maintain our high standards during the transition and continue to offer the organization a promising future.
